One of my first crescent studies. I shaped a stainless steel rod to be the armature and created a lace pattern to fit its broad open curve.  After stitching the lace to the rod with wire, I did not like the form at all.  It was not pleasing as a pedestal-supported piece, my original vision, nor was it stable.  So I walked away, leaving it on the table in my studio.  Eventually I realized that it needed to have tighter curves, to circle around itself.  I like it as a wall-mounted sculpture.  But with fresh eyes and time, I now also like it on a pedestal, suggesting something Serra-like.
