Vertigo

Free-standing Sculpture
Phosphor Bronze – Soumak
9” H x 8” W x 5” D
2015
In contrast to Michael’s Waves and its spreading warps, I wanted to work very tight and dense with very long warp wires. I set up 4 parallel warps, each 48” long. Weaving was time-consuming and somewhat tedious. Then I had an episode of Benign Positional Vertigo. Fortunately I was able to continue weaving despite the room-spinning dizziness. Maybe that’s why the sculpture looks rather Hitchcockian?
