I wanted to weave some bronze to determine the best combination of round wire diameters for warp and weft, and to assess my fingers’ willingness to work with this harder metal.  I set up a test sample to include spreading the warps and inserting new wires to create additional woven “arms”.  The test also included forming the woven bronze to determine what could be worked with fingers and mandrels and pliers, and what would require a hammer.  I loved the resulting wave forms so much, that I welded and polished the ends.  The test sample had become a finished piece, marking my transition from jeweler to sculptor.
