I wanted to see the impact, if any, of one bronze edge on a ribbon of stainless steel lace.  Indeed, the single bronze edge gives the eye a thin line to follow, in addition to the wide flat plane of the stainless steel.  Once complete, I realized that the arrangements of the loose wire ends, and in fact, the overall form, suggest a hat.  "It's All Because of Wayne" had inadvertently become a tribute to my friend Wayne Wichern, milliner extraordinaire.
