"Double Spiral" Brooch
2 1/8” H x 1 3/8” W x 1 1/8” D
12.05ct Zambian amethyst
carved by Sherris Cottier Shank
The "Double Spiral" is one of four designs I created one afternoon while playing around with a woven silver circle. The sculptural gold form becomes a brooch when a stickpin is used as the attachment mechanism. Change the look of your brooch by changing the stickpin. Or wear a stickpin by itself.
The "Double Spiral" can also be worn as a scarf pin, controlling the folds of the silk without piercing the silk. I like to smoke-ring a rectangular scarf around my neck, with one end hanging down the front and the other hanging down the back, all kept in place by the "Double Spiral" placed high on my shoulder.
