Interlocking Hearts Centerpiece

I intended Interlocking Hearts to be an interchangeable centerpiece, but I could not develop a suitable connector that was both aesthetically pleasing and structurally sound.  It was a client, looking at the silver prototype I had left abandoned on my bench, who immediately knew that it needed to be a permanent element.  Stringing Interlocking Hearts directly to the two largest South Sea pearls and using a mystery clasp between the two center back pearls was the perfect solution.

I now find myself picturing Interlocking Hearts as a pendant with…a carved gemstone drop? a diamond? a ruby briolette?  View the rendering by Maria Kiernik and tell me your choice.
